This series is entitled The Yellow Flowers. It challenges the viewer to sit within intensity.

Here, the intersection of grief and identity is emphasized through visceral, thin layers of semi-transparent oil, ephemeral lines formed by semi-abstract shapes, and repetition created literally with fingernails, forcing paint to move, as if wind and the approaching thunderstorm have immediately transformed this moment in time. 

Inspired in part by the poem “Ode to Some Yellow Flowers” (1954) by Pablo Neruda, this body of work explores how small moments within the profound experience of grief redefine who we are as individuals.
